A little bit longer
Despite vowing to back up from Sunday's effort on Monday, time got away from me, so I made up for it with 10km a Garden Island today. A great place to run, with a 1km horshoe marked every 200m, flat as a pancake, and a view of Sydney Harbour to take in. However, after 5 out and backs, it gets a bit monotonous. Intended to run 5min/km, but because I am feeling fresh from skipping days in between, my pace tends to settle around 4:30/km. Worked a few km reps consiously (4:10), but always a controlled effort:
3/05/2005 11:30 am
Workout Type: Endurance - Medium Endurance
Course: Garden Island
Distance: 10
Time: 44:42
Speed: 4:28 min/km
Average HR: 162
Comments: Was trying to go around at 5 min/km but once again fell into a quicker stride. Did the first 2km steady, eased back for the next 4km, then 2km harder, 1 km easy and brought it home a bit in the last 600m. Heart Rate still high, but running very easily. An easy one tomorrow to try a back-to-back.
Pace Steady
I am contemplating doing the Striders 10km on Saturday, but mainly as a social run. Unlikley to break 40 minutes, but hopefully this will be the last time for a few years.
Had a good demo of RunDiary.net last night, which once again gave me a lot of good feedback. It should be going to beta testers tomorrow, as we overcame our last major technical hurdles this afternoon (you don't want to know!). Writing documentation at the moment, which is always fun (not!).

Is garden island loop inside or outside the navy base? Would be handy if it was available to non-authorised, non-techical users
