Lots happening, but none of it running...

God! It's been two weeks since I've updated. Where has the time gone?

Not into running. Tuesday 7th saw pretty sharp 6x1200 at below 3:30/km pace with 200m recovery. Felt comfortable during the session. Unfortunately, my achiles gave me grief for a couple of days afterwards - most likely a side effect of running in barefeet. A 9km run in about 39 minutes three days later was OK, but pulled up with sore feet - soreness in my metatarsals not unlike my stress fracture from 12 months - not a stressie, but cause for concern. So:
* if I run in barfeet, I get sore achilies
* if I run in my Asics, I get sore feet
* if I run in my Frees, I get sore knees

obviously something is biomechanically wrong, and I will head to the podiatrist in a weeks time (must make a booking tomorrow), to get a new set of orthotics (I stopped running with them after I found that running in shoes caused pain, and running barefoot didn't). I will also be getting a couple of new pairs of shoes, and start doing things properly. So I am not planning to run for another week or so, but might head out for a couple of short runs to keep me sane.

Where am I getting the money for all this? Well, one of the reasons for not blogging was not wanting to jinx the sale of the house. The good news is that this did the trick, and we are now rental scum (although we still have a mortgage for another 7 weeks). However, as we are in the process of moving into a nice big terrace in Paddington (the one I talked about on my last post), we will cope with this situation quite tolerably.

Official moving date is this Friday (it's getting serious now - I have arranged for my Internet connection to be moved), although we have started moving stuff down already, and don't settle till the end of April, so it's not a real rush job. CoolRunning drinks are the night before, so I don't think that it will be the most pleasant of days (name me a house move that is)...

Uni has started, and as always, I am behind after the first two weeks, although have managed to keep up with my minimum contribution requirements. Work coming out my ears (which is good with a mortgage and rent to pay), but pretty much everything is in a holding pattern until the move, which I hope will be a catalyst for a lot of changes in my life...

Comments:
Phew! I was beginning to think we'd lost you there. Remember house-moving is one of the most stressful experiences...if you can still keep up with everything you are doing really well! After you move might be a good time to use that massage voucher.

hey sparkie - nice to meet you last night. i hope that your move today went well! might see you round centennial park!

Just read your entire blog in one sitting. NERD ALERT!
